WEEK 2

This week I have chosen the Occupation that I am going to undertake and learn. This Occupation is Knitting. This week we have been focusing on describing occuaption, Occupational language and taxonomies. We considered the Who, What, When, Where , How and Why of Occupation. After discussing this in class I considered these terms in relation to Knitting and filled out the form required. I then prepared a power point presentation for my tutorial to discuss my Occupational choice and methods of record keeping.

WEEK ONE

This week we discussed Occupations that we are unfamiliar and inexperienced in that we could choose to persue over the course of this paper. The occupation that we have to choose can be tied to out history or other occupations in which we already engage in. I have to carry out this Occupation for an average of 9 hours however I am going to decide on an Occupation that I am passionate about and will want to spend more than 9 hours on it. It is up to us to make our own arragements and pay for any costs that may be involded in our chosen Occupation. I am going to chose something that is inexpensive or hopefully free of charge. I am going to pass around a few ideas with friends and family this week before making a decsion before next weeks tutorial on my Occupation. Through my involvement in the occupational I am going to come to an understanding of the practices, requirements, role, routines, purpose and meaning attributed to ongoing active involement of this Occupation. Over the rest of the semester I will update my blog weekly on my progress using both writting and youtube clips. I am looking forward to finding a new Occupation to be passionate about.
